Springfield is getting ready to celebrate 100 years of Route 66 during the Mother Road Festival this weekend, and you know what sits right along the Mother Road?

And Friday night is going to be especially fun because the Route 66 Cruise is heading right past The Railyard - Springfield, IL!

Grab some great food and drinks from your favorite Railyard vendors, find a spot outside and enjoy the nostalgia as those classic cars cruise right by.

The Railyard is a little different. We're an open-air food court on Historic Route 66, home to independently owned local businesses serving up:

Mexican Cuisine • Smoked Meats & Comfort Foods • Specialty Egg Rolls • Pastries, Sweets & Ice Cream • Drinks

But we're about more than food. We want The Railyard to be a place to eat, hang out, hear some music, bring the family and enjoy something happening right here in Springfield.

And as we get ready for this next chapter, we want your input too.

‼️ THE WAFFLEWICH MISHAP ‼️

Well… turns out the waffles decided to humble us this morning.

This one was definitely trial and error! Because of the sugar in the waffles, making them ahead of time caused them to harden up much faster than we expected. They still taste amazing — but they’re not up to the quality we feel good about serving.
So unfortunately, THE WAFFLEWICH is no longer available today. 🧇💔

We’re sorry to everyone who was excited to try one! Back to the drawing board we go — apparently smoking meat is easier than waffles. 😂

This Thursday is our final Worship Night of the season at The Railyard - Springfield, IL!

We’re closing out this season’s Worship Night series with a little extra love for our community. ❤️

We’ll be collecting hygiene items for Contact Ministries to help support women and children in need.

Sweet meets savory in this one.

A warm, maple-flavored Belgian waffle dotted with little pockets of sweetness, stuffed with egg, melty cheese and your choice of bacon, chopped brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, or jalapeño brisket sausage.

And because it IS a waffle, we're sending a little side of syrup along with it. Pour it. Dip it. You decide.

It's sweet. It's salty. It's savory. And you're gonna need both hands.

The Wafflewich makes its brunch debut THIS SATURDAY, September 19 at 9:00 AM!
