Not everyone joins the Reserves for the same reason. Whether it’s the insurance, drill pay, retirement points, or the mission.. you’ve got options. One weekend a month can go a long way.

One of the best parts of my job is helping prior service members get back in through the Navy Reserves. A lot of people think their time to serve has passed, but it hasn’t. Whether it’s been a few years or more, there are still opportunities to come back, serve part-time, earn benefits, and be part of something bigger again. Getting to tell someone, “You’re back in” never gets old.

There’s a misconception that coming back to the military will cause you to lose your work life balance.. but the Navy Reserves work with your civilian life, not against it.

You can be a full-time dad, business owner, mechanic, whatever you want really, and still serve part-time.

It’s not about giving everything up. More so about keeping a foot in both worlds.
