For more than nine decades, Benjamin Swan lived a life of service, sacrifice, leadership, and love. He fought for civil rights, stood with the oppressed, served his community, and helped shape a better Springfield, a better Massachusetts, and a better world.

Now we gather to celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will endure for generations.

On behalf of the Swan family, we invite all whose lives were touched by Uncle Ben to join us as we honor a freedom fighter, statesman, mentor, family patriarch, and beloved friend.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the extraordinary life he lived and the countless lives he impacted.
