The mission of the Springfield Historical Society is to preserve the Historic Cannon Ball House, and its contents, which include furniture, books, documents, photographs, maps, weapons and varied artifacts... The Historical Society is located at the historic Cannon Ball House located at:

NJDAR, Church and Cannon Chapter DAR, NJSSAR State President Chris Sands , West Fields SAR, NJSAR Color Guard, NJ 3rd Regiment, Springfield Scouts, President General NSSAR Michael Elston, NSSAR Aide De Camp, Robert Meyer, Springfield Mayor Harris Laufer, Township Committee Members and Clerk, Police Chief John Cook and all the SPD officers and Auxilliary Officers who provided the es**rt, traffic and crowd control and Springfield DPW and Springfield 250 Committee- you are all AMAZING!

The parade and refreshments have been cancelled.

The American Experience display is open today from 1-4pm in the Palmer Museum at the Springfield Library. The traveling exhibit continues Monday from 10am-Noon, then it travels on to Pennsylvania. Enjoy the history and air conditioning today!

James Caldwell's story affected the outcome of the Battle of Springfield- come to "the church where it happened" for a story slam and panel discussion by Regional and academic historians! Free and open to the public on May 30th 1-3:30pm Presbyterian Church of Springfield.

Shout out to the James Caldwell School 4th grade classes that enjoyed the Historic Walking Tour this week! From the DAR/Battleground Cemetery to the Historic Cannon Ball House to the First Presbyterian Church- we packed a lot of history into two beautiful mornings!
