Nine meteor showers peak this December! We recommend you pay special attention to the and and here’s why:

⭐ The Geminids are one of the most popular and abundant showers known for their multi-colored meteors. Unfortunately, this year, they peak on December 14 – just a week after the Full Moon. It will likely wash out the meteors, so it’s better to find the darkest skies and start observations before the moonrise.

⭐ The Ursids are often overlooked as they occur around Christmas when everyone is busy with their last-moment preparations for the holiday. But this year, the Ursids get the best observing conditions as they reach their peak the day before the New Moon. The moonlight won’t spoil the sky, so you have a good chance of spotting some meteors.

Due to inclement weather, all activities have been cancelled and Second Baptist will be CLOSED on today, Thursday, February 28th, 2019.

Due to inclement weather all Preschool, daytime and evening activities have been cancelled and Second Baptist will be CLOSED today, February 15th, 2019.

Our 30’s & 40’s singles Sunday School class will now be meeting at 9:30 starting Sunday, January 20th. We will be meeting in room 219. This means single parents and care givers for children in middle school and high school can attend class at the same time.
We also will continue to have our 40’s+ singles class in room 210 at 11am.

Don't forget the World Missions Conference starts tonight! Starting st 4:15 they're serving free pizza and drinks til 5. There will be two Missionary Presentations. One from 4:30 to 5:15 and from 5:15 to 6. Then a prayer and praise service in the Worship Center at 6.

As pastor Marshall said this morning "while Jesus was being nailed to the cross because of sin, sin itself was nailed to the same cross."
