Five days until the Spartans are back on the field. Thirteen teams open the 2026 season this Saturday, September 12, with games at John R. Lewis and West Springfield.

Hayfield at South County. 7:00 tonight in Lorton.

South County is 1-0. Dylan Miller went 13 of 20 for 232 yards with three total touchdowns at Gainesville, Amare Acheampong put up 131 all-purpose yards, and Jonah Hardesty did not allow a completion.

Hayfield is 0-1. Terrance Veney ran for 146 yards and scored at Mount Vernon, Kayden Collins had an interception and two breakups in his first game at safety, and Tyson Taylor-Williams had a sack and two tackles for loss.

Both teams are led by a head coach in his first fall running the program. Tonight is the first time Jonte Craig and Liam Yao coach this one from the top.
