Being a dad comes in many forms, and today we honor not only the dads, stepdads, foster dads, adoptive dads, bonus dads and father figures but also those affected by child loss. Whoever has the title of “dad” in your life, remember to celebrate them today!

Each Memorial Day, we honor those who have given their lives while serving in our nation’s armed forces. Across the country, many people observe the holiday with moments of silence and graveside services. But amid the solemnity, we need to remember not how these brave Americans died but how they lived – their dedication, courage and commitment to service.

Memorial Day reminds us that we all share the responsibility to carry on that commitment and help make our country and world a better place. Let’s consider how we can honor the memories of those who have gone before us by serving our neighbors, our community and our nation.
