Rutherford High School is proud to welcome Mr. Wesley Fleischmann as our new Director of Bands. Mr. Fleischmann brings a wealth of experience as a music educator, conductor, and private instructor, along with a passion for helping students grow as musicians, leaders, and individuals. His commitment to excellence, teamwork, and student success makes him a wonderful addition to The Pride family.
Mr. Fleischmann is excited to build upon Rutherford’s strong band tradition while creating new opportunities for students both on and off the field and stage. The Pride Weekend Recap: Spring Concert and EOY Banquet!

The Pride Weekend Recap: What an incredible weekend celebrating our amazing band students! 🎶✨ Our Spring Concert showcased months of hard work, growth, dedication, and musicianship from every ensemble including collaborator performance by the Choir Ensemble!  From powerful performances to memorable moments on stage, our students truly shined and made us proud. We also wrapped up the season with our Inaugural End-of-Year Band Banquet — an evening filled with laughter, memories, great food, dancing, and celebration of all that this program has accomplished this year. It was so special to honor our students, seniors, families, directors, and volunteers who help make this band family so extraordinary. A huge thank you to our Band Booster team, volunteers, parents, and supporters for the countless hours spent helping behind the scenes. Rutherford School (6–12) is seeking a passionate and visionary High School Band Director to lead The Pride for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing music program with enthusiastic students, strong community support, and the chance to shape the future of band at Rutherford. The position includes 7.5 hours per day (10-month contract) with summer responsibilities, and requires Florida Music K–12 certification or a Statement of Eligibility. Rutherford High School is gaining a familiar face in leadership!

Mr. Jonathan McQuagge has been named principal of Rutherford High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Most recently serving as principal of Rosenwald High School, he led the development of innovative programs that increased graduation rates and expanded opportunities for students.

With prior leadership experience at Rutherford High and New Horizons Learning Center, Mr. McQuagge brings a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, high-quality instruction, and student success. We’re excited to welcome him into this role as we continue putting the “A” back in Bay!

Just call them the “Krewe of RHS”! Great group of students representing The Pride in a community parade. If you attended you could also see the Weightlifting Team students and coaches representing RHS!

4th Annual Blue Thunder 5K Run/Walk The 4th Annual Blue Thunder 5K Run/Walk is on Saturday April 11, 2026. It includes the following events: 4th Annual Blue Thunder 5K and 4th Annual Blue Thunder 10K.

The Pride celebrates the season with a night of Band Family fun!
