the arm rest, mounted using double sided tape.. seems to hold just fine.. made from two pieces of figured maple and stained..

I've been trying to make some arm rests for my mandolins.. Just two colors right now, but any color is avilable.. They are made from figured maple and are mounted with double sided tape.. easy to install and won't scratch the finish.. I've had one mounted for several months with no harm.. It does get your arm up off the top and just might improve the sound...

I've been working on these mandolins on and off since summer.. got all of the A styles bound and one of the F stylles bound..I've offered to sell them in the 'white' but have been working on them a little at a time.. Each of them has their own individual look... I may have to add hardware just so I can hear their voice.. this is the biggest group I've made yet....

Have a wonderful piece of quilted maple for a back, but it's about 1/2 inch too narow. So I took two pieces of mahogony and one piece of maple glued together and used as center spacers.. I split the quilted maple down the center, put the center spacer in, and glued all togrther..it came out okay... hope I get the effict I'm triing for..

I've been playing around with different peghead veniers.. Most that I've done is just standard ebony.. But have made up a few using walnut with differennt patternns.. Not traditional, what is your openions

can't really tell different sounds from the tops I've used.. Spruce, fir, and cedar all make nice sounding mandolins.. They are not close to being strung up, but the rapping is so solid..

I've just finished three A style mandolins with binding. They are waiting for finish and hardware.. One has a cedar top, one has fir, and one has a spruce top.. All have figured maple bodies.. May let them go unfinished and let someone else have a hand at finishing their own.. All the hard work is done..

been working on a couple of A styles the last few weeks.. started binding with black ABS .. think I'm going to like the look

back in the shop this week and working on binding .. started cutting the channel on an A style...

This is the mandolin that I am now working on. It has a really tight grained fir top and nice figured maple back, sides, and neck. The peghead is ebony, as well as both points.. I am think of using black binding for the body and white for the peghead.. I thought about selling it in the white, but maybe I'll just finish it mysely.. It has a strong tapping, and is oh so loud......

Here are a few A5s and F5s that I have in built that are "in the white".. The one on the right has a lacewood back that is beautiful.. The rest is typical with maple and spruce or fir.. The pegheads are bound with ABS but the bodies are waiting to be bound.. I may try to sell one unfinished.. Give someone a chance to finish their own.. All the hard work is done......
