The Fourth of July can be a time of celebration, family, and community — but for some, holidays can also bring stress, loneliness, overstimulation, or difficult emotions.

However you are spending the day, please know that you are not alone. Perimeter Healthcare is here for individuals and families who need support, care, and compassion.

Trauma does not look the same for every person.

For some, it may show up as anxiety, nightmares, fear, irritability, withdrawal, trouble sleeping, or feeling constantly on edge. For children and teens, trauma may also appear through changes in behavior, mood, school performance, or relationships.

PTSD Awareness Month is a reminder to look beyond behavior and ask: “What support might this person need?”

Compassion can be the first step toward healing.

Our young artists had a “fin-tastic” time in Recreational Therapy creating beach-themed dessert cups! Using crushed cookie “sand,” and gummy sharks, patients combined creativity, teamwork, and imagination to bring their ocean-inspired treats to life.

Activities like these are more than just fun—they help children build confidence, practice following directions, strengthen social skills, and express themselves in a positive, supportive environment. Every smile, every creation, and every shared laugh is another step on the journey toward healing.

We’re so proud of the creativity our patients displayed and grateful to our Recreational Therapy team for providing meaningful experiences that make recovery engaging and memorable.

Children and teens do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling.

Sometimes emotional distress shows up as withdrawal, anger, changes in sleep, loss of interest, trouble at school, mood swings, or behavior that feels out of character.

If you are concerned about your child, trust that concern. Early support can help families better understand what is happening and take steps toward healing.

Today, we’re celebrating our amazing Dietary Team!

Behind every meal is a group of dedicated individuals who do so much more than prepare food—they provide comfort, care, and nourishment that supports healing and recovery for the children we serve.

From accommodating special dietary needs to creating a welcoming mealtime experience, our Dietary Team plays an essential role in our mission each and every day.

Thank you for your hard work, compassion, and commitment to making a difference—one meal at a time. We appreciate all that you do!

“Healing doesn’t mean the pain never existed. It means it no longer controls the story.”

Mental health recovery is not always a straight line. Some days feel lighter, and some days feel harder — but every step forward matters.

Whether you’re just beginning your healing journey or continuing to take things one day at a time, know this: you are stronger than you think, and support is always within reach.

Your story is still being written.

School may be out for summer, but support doesn’t stop.

For many children, teens, and families, summer can bring big changes in routine, structure, and support systems. That can feel overwhelming — especially for those already navigating mental health or behavioral health challenges.

Whether your family is facing stress, anxiety, emotional struggles, or a difficult transition, we’re here to help.

This summer, remember: you don’t have to wait for school to start again to get support.

Care is available. Hope is possible. We’re here when you need us.

We are over the moon with these Oreo cookie Moon phases. Patients watched an educational video learning about the different phases of the moon. Then, they used oreos to make the phases of the moon and had a sweet treat!
