Dana-Thomas House Foundation
The Dana-Thomas House Foundation supports the Dana-Thomas House State Historic Site which preserves one of America's premier architectural treasures.
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902. The Dana-Thomas House (DTH) was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902 for Susan Lawrence Dana, a forward-thinking socialite living in Springfield, Illinois. The home, the 72nd building designed by Wright, contains the largest collection of site-specific, original Wright art glass and furniture. Wright’s first “blank check” commission, the home has 35 rooms

We had SO much fun hosting a group of 60+ from the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy last Friday. We even got to see some of Susan's hats, and, a special bonus was a visit to the Lawrence Education Center library. Susan Lawrence Dana commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design the library as a tribute to her father, Rheuna D. Lawrence, who was president of the school board for many years. Thank you to everyone who attended, our volunteers, and to District 186 for allowing us to visit the school!

Our Annual Dinner was held on April 17th with Kim Bixler as our presenter. Kim’s family owned Frank Lloyd Wright’s 1908 Edward E. Boynton house in Rochester, NY from 1977 to 1994. Kim shared the story of growing up in a Wright house, including the joys and pitfalls.
Thank you to Kim for a great presentation, and thank you to everyone who attended and sponsored the event! Also, a huge thank you to Bob Marcy for making all the centerpieces – they were gorgeous!
