Rest in Peace Gene Winfield Gene Winfield Rod & Custom I have kept these first two photos on my inspiration board since the halfway mark of my PhD program. My memories of chatting with Gene and posing with his cars at Starbirds Shows always make me laugh and give me that extra energy to keep writing. Gene customized cars for the film Bladerunner as well as the American TV show Bewitched in the 1960s, to name just two. You would not have known this to chat to him. I never once heard him brag about his career. At KKOA in 2019, he braved the 90 degree heat to be the flagman on the race track. You could tell he adored every minute of it. He was an absolute scream with pinup models and loved having all the girls pose with him and his cars. Even in recent years he was still very focussed on helping the younger generations of car customizers learn his techniques. Last year at age 97, he was still offering classes. Thanks for the memories Gene 🥰😘😎

Bo***ir Girls designed a very personal and memorable shoot to mark my move from Galway: whilst including a nod to 80s sci-fi and my love of lingerie, this foray into alternative fashion publication was new to me. Thanks so much sis and FEMME Rebelle Magazine for a December cover.

The Autobiography of Margret Coquette
Hello, lovers of pinup and retro culture!
My German grandma Neva first inspired my love for antique clothing. I consider my participation in pinup contests and photographic modeling a living memorial for her, since I frequently wear pieces I inherited from her collection. As a child, I was introduced to the music of Elvis Presley and Graceland by my grandparents and mother. I travel to Graceland frequently, because I love meeting my fellow Elvis fans from all over the world. I feel very fortunate to have participated in Priscilla Presley’s inaugural Elegant Southern Style Weekend (Sept. 2019) and to have been invited back for the March 2020 edition of this event. (See my photo albums!)
In my free time, I feel happiest when singing, volunteering on farms, and traveling. My modeling goals for the year are to establish collaborations with retro/fashion photographers in Ireland and the UK, and connect with fellow pinups and promote retro fashion in Ireland. I will continue my publications and volunteerism with student and charity groups.
Before relocating to Galway in August 2020, I was a government statistics analyst for 6 years. I earned two Masters from the University of Missouri-Columbia: German (2013) and Public Policy with emphases in Statistics and Management (2019). I am currently pursuing a PhD at NUI-Galway (2024), with my research focusing on improving opportunities for working-class teachers and students in Ireland. After my research is completed, I hope to remain living in Ireland and working in either government policy or academia.
