We love our opera outreach program and getting to sing for kids across Springfield. We all had a musical experience that put us on path we’re on today; We hope to be inspiring future Opera Bears! 🐻🐻🐻👩🏼

Opening Night was a success! Due, in no small part, to our fantastic orchestra. You have one more chance to see this powerful show!

We are eagerly awaiting Mr. Gordon’s arrival this Wednesday evening! You won’t want to miss watching him work with our students, even if the schedule is a bit different than we anticipated.

The MSU Opera Theater is thrilled to announce that renowned American composer Ricky Ian Gordon will be joining us for a residency February 25-27 as our students prepare to perform the conconcertized version of his 2007 opera, The Grapes of Wrath! We invite you to participate in this residency by observing his work with our students during coachings, masterclasses, and a culminating recital featuring selections from his art song repertoire. Sophomore, Lizzie Rattenborg is singing the role of Mrs. Lovett. Joined by Junior, Noah Maddux in the role of Sweeney Todd, they take on the iconic duet from Sweeney Todd: "A little Priest"

One little maid... two little maids... three little maids! Our next scene is from one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most famous operas, "The Mikado." Senior, Ashlee Martin is joined by Sophomore, Ella Greniger and Junior, Allison Britt in Opera's iconic trio, "Three Little Maids."
