The rink doesn't have freestyle or public skates tomorrow. Take a break! If you haven't checked out the rink's new calendar yet-there are often changes in the summer so check it out. New to skating and not sure what freestyle sessions are? Those sessions are for practicing figure skating skills along with figure skating/hockey skate skill lessons.

Springfield -Greene County Park Board Online Recreation

What does that mean? USFS memberships run from July 1-June 30th of each year. That means if you have a LTS, Aspire or Full membership with US Figure Skating that it will expire at the end of the month. JVFSC encourages new members to join the club and for all members to renew during June so that their membership with USFS stays up to date. We have several membership types including-
Introductory memberships- this is a discounted 1 year membership for skaters & families who have not had a Full or Aspire membership previously. There are introductory membership options for adult skaters and for skaters under 18.
Aspire to JVFSC memberships- these are for families who are transitioning from the Aspire program/membership into full membership.
Adult memberships for those over 18
Professional memberships for coaches
Collegiate memberships for skaters in college (4 year membership)

Looking for competition options this summer?
Skate Tulsa happens Friday, July 17th-Sunday, July 19th. Registration is open on EntryEeze.
Heart of America is celebrating their 50th anniversary! That competition is happening July 31-August 2nd. Registration is open on EMS.

It's exciting to see the growth of ice dance at Brightspeed Ice Park! These skaters have passed virtual ice dance tests this spring. Great job everyone!

It was the last Wednesday for coffee club skate for a while. And that's sad! But, we're excited for what's coming next! It's time to sign up for summer skate camps. There will be an advanced skating skills camp Monday-Wednesday morning starting June 8th and a basic skills skating camp each Thursday morning starting June 11th. Check out the Springfield-Greene County Park Board website or talk to ice skating coordinator Alli Schaefer for more information!

Amy Wilkerson recently passed all 3 of her pre-silver dance tests! Not sure what that means? These tests are different from the tests that happen at the end of each Learn to Skate session to determine if a skater advances. US Figure Skating has different disciplines and dance is one of the disciplines. The tests in each level progress until you reach gold.

A reminder that the Ice Park will be closed on Monday.

The Ice Park will be closed on Memorial Day as we take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country.
