You did it — you sat through the wax, you survived, you're smooth! Now let's keep that skin happy so it stays smooth (and irritation-free). Here's your no-fuss aftercare guide:

The First 24 Hours 🕐

•Hands off! - We know it's tempting to touch, but let your skin breathe.
•Skip the sweat sessions. Give the gym, hot yoga, and steamy walks a rest day — sweat + fresh follicles = irritation invite.
•No hot tubs, pools, or scalding showers. Lukewarm water is your friend today.
•Loose, breathable underwear (cotton is queen) — nothing tight or synthetic rubbing where you just got waxed.

Days 2–3 💧

•Gently exfoliate- starting on day 2 or 3 to help prevent ingrown hairs (a soft washcloth or gentle scrub does the trick).
•Moisturize daily- with a fragrance-free lotion to keep skin soft and calm.
•No s*x or intense friction- for at least 24–48 hours — give your skin a minute to reset.

Ongoing TLC 🌿

•Keep exfoliating 2–3 times a week between appointments.
•Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize — dry skin = more ingrowns.
•Avoid tanning beds or direct sun on freshly waxed skin for 24–48 hours.
•Book your next appointment for 3–4 weeks out to keep hair growth in sync (and waxing less painful over time — promise, it gets better!).

Bumps Happen — Don't Panic 🙈

A little redness or tiny bumps right after your wax are totally normal and usually calm down within a few hours to a day. If irritation lingers or you notice signs of infection, give us a shout — we've got you.

I have a lot of bonuses at my job. One of the BIGGEST is when someone launches a new product/adventure.
If you haven't heard, Skincare Smart will be launching a Head Spa in the near future. Today, I got SPOILED!! Holy cow! Icey did a fantastic job. Imagine an hour of someone playing with your hair 🥰. It included all the hair goodies and a hair hydration mask, shoulder rubs, foot scrub, and a mini facial with facial lymphatic drainage.

To say I am completely relaxed is an understatement. Good thing I had an evening appointment because I am officially worthless.

After an enlightening conversation with a friend today. Please, for the love of all that is holy. Make sure your laser person went to an actual school. Not a “my friend taught me this” or “I was sold this.”
I was an esthetician before I went to laser school. This applies to hair removal, tattoo removal, or anything laser-related. Maybe I overthink things ( I mean, 100% I do), but I would rather you be safe than injured.
