Bring the family, meet your local firefighters and EMTs, check out the firehouse, and enjoy a day packed with hands-on activities, fire safety fun, and plenty for the kids! 👩‍🚒🚑🔥

It has been brought to our attention that certain websites are promoting a free shredding event at Chantilly Regional Library on Monday, September 21.

This is NOT TRUE.

Currently FCPL has no shredding events scheduled at its branches. For community members interested in free shredding, Mason District - Supervisor Andres Jimenez will be hosting an event on Saturday, October 3 at Annandale High School. More information about this event can be found on his page linked above.

Join the fun on Saturday, October 31, 8:00 am to noon in the gym at St. Bernadette’s School, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, for a massive sale of home accessories, fashion items, collectibles, toys, electronics, and more. Library Research: Making @ FCPL: Fix-It Clinic - November 14, 2026 Learn, Explore, and Discover Have a broken or damaged item you’ve been looking to get repaired but it’s too costly or inconvenient? Bring it by a Fairfax County Public Library Fix-It Clinic.

Don’t wait to get registered to vote. Sept. 15 is National Voter Registration Day.

Use this as a reminder to either register for the first time or update your registration information, if it has recently changed.

You can register in person at your local registrar’s office or online at vote.virginia.gov with a Virginia driver’s license.

Election Day is Nov. 3.
