Dropping the Diet Mentality and Understanding Hunger
Micca discussed the importance of dropping the 'diet mentality' and instead focusing on understanding the body's hunger and fullness signals. She highlighted that food is not inherently good 😇 or bad 😈 and emphasized the need to recognize different types of hunger, including physical, emotional, and environmental. She encouraged attendees to develop an awareness of the internal sensation of fullness and to use the 5-10 point scale to indicate hunger and fullness levels. Micca also emphasized that consistently skipping meals or not eating enough can trigger the body's survival mechanisms, leading to potential weight gain and other health issues. She stressed the importance of understanding one's unique eating patterns to make adjustments for better satisfaction and comfort.
