Holy Communion isn’t a one way street. Do we understand that Jesus, in giving himself to us, wishes that we give ourselves to him?

I am so thankful for my parishioners, friends, and mom, as we celebrated a special Mass of Thanksgiving on the occasion of my 15th Anniversary of Priesthood this evening. I was choked up several times while presiding. It was a special blessing to receive a new chasuble of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Diocese and our Parish will be consecrated to the Sacred Heart next weekend as part of how the Bishops have chosen to mark the 250th anniversary of the USA.

Today marks my 15th Anniversary of my ordination to the Priesthood. I’m so grateful for the many blessings of ministry, but I’m also grateful for new energy and health over this last year, which has made ministry more fruitful. Thank you God, for the gift of this sacred office, which continually reminds me that I’m not my own. Thank you to all who continue to support me in this sacred mission.

Today I will celebrate a special Mass at my parish, OLSH, at 6:30pm in the church. All are welcome to attend. There will be a reception following in the pastoral center!

Today I had the honor of concelebrating Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Though my anniversary of priesthood is tomorrow, this seemed like a fitting way to celebrate the double festivities of my birthday and anniversary. My thanks to the amazing staff of St Pats and to my friend Eileen for being there for this great day!
