Today we've hired an apprentice carpenter to help with our back log of work. The dust mask is only mandatory when operating the saw and sander. Note her attention to the details: the matching hair bow. She even came to us with Doc Martins sporting a shine.

What does The Handyman Company do over the three day holiday? Enlist a ‘helper’ to fix leaky problems in his own home.

That buzzing sound out on the deck or porch may be the voracious “wood boring bee.” It will destroy your wood furniture as well as your deck. This one was deep inside the slate on the chair and it took some digging to get him out. Telltale signs were the buzzing, the hole and the sawdust.

The first two photos are of the left/right sides of a massive wall that extended out over the bank of cabinets/stove. It includes a serious venting system. Then The Handyman Company came in and did their magic. Then Dakota Cabinets came in and did theirs. Great concept, great teamwork, great finished project.

Remember to unhook your garden hose to prevent costly repair bills later.

For a lot of people the front door tends to get seldom use as they go in and out through the garage. Check it occasionally as birds will take over in a blink. If they can't build on a ledge they'll find that nice wreath or the spot between the porch light and the wall. They are not the cleanest housekeepers.

Check under the sink occasionally for small leaks. They turn into big leaks and that turns into rusted pipes and then that turns into so many other problems that it'd be a whole lot easier (and cheaper) to just check under the sink occasionally for small leaks.
