Crawling out from the recesses of her lab to don a new hat - a jester hat with 4 little bells on the end - we have Ella Hayes! Ella is a She/her and is majoring in “Biology/Anthropology” Which is a major, which is a minor, ARE THEY BOTH MAJORS? The world may never know…

When we asked Ella why she does improv Ella said “I’ve always wanted to be a court jester.” Hmm very interesting, maybe Ella would be a prime candidate to appear working at a renaissance festival in many a year when all of her other opportunities have taken flight and she’s left with nothing but ‘the great festival’ to look forward to. Just something to think about. Ella told us she enjoys “Sewing, Reading, Cosplaying, Tennis” - maybe this ren faire dream may actually come true, just as long as there’s a community tennis court across the road that her and the other renaissance creatures can use on the weekdays. When we asked Ella if anything interesting had ever happened to her she said “I was once crowned the queen of my entire summer camp”. THE QUEEN! THE QUEEN OF THE COURT!

And introducing our next improv baby, “Jack Andrew Nelson”! When he was born he signed a contract that forces him to drop his middle name at all times. Jack Andrew Nelson, “a he/him/his/himself”, is a Sophomore in Mechanical Engineering. Be on the lookout for any funny look mechanical engineering’s ‘round these parts - they say there’s some sort of improv engineer on the loose.

When we ask Jack Andrew Nelson why he does improv Jack Andrew Nelson said “For the ego boost, and cuz funny people do improv and I wanna know those funny people!” Jack Andrew Nelson that is just so sweet! Minus points for calling yourself funny though the verdict with the counsel of great funny ones is still out. Jack told us that some of his favorite things to do are “Guitar, dancing, and looking things up on Google”. A man after our hearts, may his whimsy look past the Ai results all Google searches inevitably show up with. Jack Andrew Nelson also mentioned that “I broke my hand when I went up the stairs too fast and crashed into the wall (I was trying to set a new record)”. Maybe during Jack Andrew Nelson’s time on the team he’ll break an entirely different part of his body attempting to set yet another new record.

Improvers take on summer *Clare Edition*

Now…. I know what you’re asking yourself. Omg what is Clare up to this summer????? Don’t even fret bruv, I got bullet points for you.

Let’s just say Clare went Hollywood…

- Dodgers game
- Getty Museum
- Oscars Museum
- Tried In-N-Out (it was a good burger)
- Tried Win-dow (it was a better burger)
- Saw a comedy show at UCB (rocked my socks off, so very funny)
- Saw lots of friends
- Slept on the floor of an airport

IZZY HILL (she/her)

She’s tall, she knows ball– you know her, you love her, she’s…

THE IZZY HILL *air horns, canon fire, bald eagle*

Izzy is an acting major with a minor in dance who decided to bless us with her performing prowess because she “finally realized that life is too short not to be silly and free” (Hill, 2026). Wait… Izzy’s allowed to be silly AND free? I’m super silly but they keep locking me in the PSU after shows 🙁

When she’s not frolicking, you can find Izzy playing Mario Kart, guitar (acoustic and electric), baking, axe throwing, or thrifting. Damn girl, leave some cool hobbies for the rest of us!

Speaking of Mario Kart, we have it on VERY good sources that Izzy is nationally ranked. But you didn’t hear it from us ;)). Also, after combing through her follower list on Instagram (which we do to everyone who joins the team), our experts discovered that Izzy is followed by the 2 time world champion of air guitar. Talk about object work!

We are so thankful to have Izzy on our team and YOU yes YOU can see her perform on Wednesday’s in the PSU!

OH BOY OH BOY ANOTHER BABY

🕺🏻TOMMY SWONGER (he/him)🎭

🎤 Tommy is a sophomore Musical Theatre major! When our hard-hitting journalists asked him why he does improv, he said, “Improv, Stand Up and Sketch Comedy always cheered me up when I needed it the most and I just hope to do the same for others.” Bit sentimental for my taste but still: AWWWW.

When Tommy was asked about his hobbies, he said, “finding new recipes to cook, playing video games with my friends from back home, buying clothes and walking around Downtown with my camera taking pictures.” So Tommy, I’m expecting a feast and a photoshoot in our future, ‘kay?

A fun fact that Tommy wanted to share about himself was: “I’m a proud Latino and I’ve been traveling to Colombia to visit family since before I could speak.” 🇨🇴 We love to see it folks! 👏
