Meet the person to whom I sold my very first policy back in 1984, on the very first day of my agency; and the ONLY person to have been a policyholder in my agency from day one to day 13,505, the last day of my agency. I honored her this week with a bag of gifts and a plaque inscribed with the words shown.

Well friends, I very soon will have “busted my last bronc” on “The Farm” as I approach my retirement date of October 31st. After 37 years in business, indeed I have finally reached the “end of the trail” and the time has come for me to remove and hang up my spurs . . and ride off gently into the sunset.

Please know that I am filled with gratitude for my most loyal customers through those years, some of whom have been with me since the beginning . . some of whom have gone on to their eternal reward. Now, I am looking forward to being “off the clock” for the first time since I was a 12 year old kid shining shoes for a few bucks a week in the back room of a barber shop in Popeye’s hometown.

And, as I say farewell to all of you who remain, I wish you the very best in all of your future endeavors.

My oldest living customer, who just happened to also be my oldest living brother’s mother-in-law, passed away early this morning at the age of 106. She was a remarkable lady . . and a living history book.

Had a “surprise” visit from Jake today. 😊
