BHN's Family Partner team recently came together in Ware to connect, recharge, and celebrate Parent Peer Support Provider Appreciation Day—honoring caregivers who use their lived experience to support other families.
From a guest speaker with Parent/Professional Advocacy League to team-building games and hands-on activities, it was a great day with an even better team!
At BHN, Family Partners bring something uniquely powerful to this work. They walk alongside families, sharing their experiences, offering guidance, helping navigate services, and strengthening understanding across the community.

After doing a fourth-year elective in addiction medicine with BHN providers, two medical students from the PURCH program at UMass Chan Medical School partnered with us to bring a meaningful garden project to life at our New View Program in Greenfield, supported by a grant from the school.
Students and individuals served came together to plant garden beds with vegetables and flowers, creating a space that supports connection, purpose, and healing. It’s something individuals can continue to care for, watch grow, and enjoy over time, and a project that will keep growing with future students, year after year.
Thank you to our partners at UMass Chan for the grant and for supporting recovery in such a hands-on, meaningful way 💚
We’re also grateful to the students for their partnership and the care they brought to both their work in our programs and this project—and wishing them all the best as they begin their careers in this life-changing field! Both new doctors are entering family medicine with a strong interest in addiction medicine fellowships after their time at BHN!
