Our Mission: To see all generations experience true life change with Jesus. Join us on this world-changing journey!

Our community of faith at First United Methodist Church yearns to be a place where people are encouraged to hear God's voice, love one another, show compassion to others, and follow Jesus more closely than ever before. We desire to pour forth God's love in every direction, so our local and global community can be transformed. Specifically, we want to help the lost ones be found, the children be loved, the broken be healed, the races be reconciled, and the poor be lifted up.

Join us in celebrating the graduates in our Springfield First family! From 8th grade to high school to college and graduate school, we are so proud of all the hard work, growth, and dedication these students have shown.

Help us congratulate these graduates and keep them in your prayers as they step into this next season of life. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for them.

So many people spend their lives pretending they are fine while carrying anxiety, shame, bitterness, exhaustion, or endless striving beneath the surface.

But Jesus did not come so we could keep pretending. He came to rescue, restore, and lead us into freedom.

Somewhere along the way, many of us traded a meaningful life for a merely busy life.

But Colossians reminds us that real life is not found in endless striving, proving ourselves, or trying to hold everything together on our own. A meaningful life is found in Christ.

According to Paul writing to the Colossians, a life that matters:

• Is rescued by Christ
• Is centered on Christ
• Is reconciled through Christ
• Is grounded in faith through Christ

This week we began a brand-new series through the book of Colossians exploring what it means to build our lives around Jesus instead of endless striving and exhaustion.

If you missed Sunday’s message, you can watch anytime at springfieldfirst.org/sermons.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to measure our worth by how much we produce. More work. More hustle. More noise. But Colossians reminds us that a life that matters does not begin with achievement. It begins with grace.

Jesus did not come just to make small improvements to our lives. He came to rescue us from the darkness we cannot escape on our own. Anxiety, shame, bitterness, endless striving. Christ meets us there and offers freedom.

What if a meaningful life isn’t about building your own importance, but learning to center your life on Christ?

This Sunday we kick off a new series through the book of Colossians and look at how Jesus rescues us from darkness and calls us into a new way of living. We’d love for you to join us.

What makes a life truly matter? In a world chasing status, success, and significance, the book of Colossians points us somewhere deeper and better: Real Life is found in Christ.

This Sunday, we begin a brand new series, A Life that Matters: The Letter to the Colossians. Together, we’ll explore what it looks like to move beyond shallow faith and live fully into the life God is calling us to in our homes, relationships, work, and witness.

No matter your past, your doubts, or the season you’re in, God is calling you to more than simply existing.

Join us this Sunday at Springfield First as we begin this new journey together.
