“William Cutting”, also known as Bill “The Butcher”, was a member of the New York City gang the Bowery Boys. A bare-knuckle boxer, and a leader of the “Know Nothing” political movement. He was also the head of his own West Side gang. The Native Americans used Poole as their chief “enforcer.” As a butcher in real life, Poole (wielding the knife of his trade) could accurately hit a target from 20 feet.

Also used in the Movie “300”! The Greek Hoplite was a tough, effective citizen-soldier, who made up the bulk of the ancient Greek armies. They were ferocious when defending their homes. The Hoplite would fight viciously amongst themselves, but they were even more fierce in the fight against invaders, like the Persians. When their spears broke, the Xiphos sword came out! This leaf shaped blade was extremely popular and one of the finest throughout the ancient world. It was preferred for cutting and thrusting, having a wide blade surface for sharp cuts and a reinforced point that would enlarge any wound. The solid construction handle, which offers great grip and control, combined with our high quality heat treated steel, results in an EXTREMELY DURABLE sword.

This Version II machete is influenced from the one used in the movie Book of Eli. Eli is a lone traveler, wandering America's wastelands devastated by nuclear war 30 years prior. The stark landscape is littered with abandoned cars, crumbling buildings, and bombed highways. Water and food are scarce. Eli uses his sword to survive and fight his way through, to deliver his copy of this mysterious book to a safe location.
