Clear Lake Township has been reduced to a Level 1 snow emergency level. There are still slick spots so drive with caution on open roads. Road crews will be out today widening roads and salting intersections and hills.

Clear Lake Township has declared a Level 2 snow emergency. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. This means that only people with a real and important need to be on the roads and streets should do so. As stated earlier our road crews will stop at 8 pm and begin again early tomorrow morning.

Township road crews will end plowing roads at 8 pm tonight and will resume early tomorrow morning. A Level 1 Snow Emergency will remain in effect. Any updates will posted.

We had to cancel our oil & chip projects that were scheduled for this past Tuesday. Our vendor that provides the oil application had an equipment issue and could not provide that service on Tuesday.

We have rescheduled the oil & chip for next week on Wednesday the 18th, weather permitting. We will have yellow signs posted in advance.

Sangamon County Highway Department announces that roadway and bridge construction activities will begin on Oak Crest Road, just east of N. Oaklane Road of Springfield in Clear Lake Township, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 6:00 am (weather permitting). Work will consist of removal and replacement of the bridge over the Sangamon River and related roadwork. We anticipate this segment of road will be closed until July 25, 2025.
