Pack, Pray, Eat is tomorrow! This week's project is Produce.

In addition to packing at 5:30 and serving from 6-7, we will need volunteers at 3:30 to help set up. Please note that this will involve moving and lifting heavy boxes of produce.

Card Making & Catching Up is tomorrow at 6pm! Hosted by Messiah Women's Enrichment Group, come end the week by catching up with each other and making cards. All supplies included!

Pack, Pray, Eat is tomorrow! This week's project is Weekend Backpacks.

We will meet at 1pm and 5:30pm. Dinner will be served in the evening after packing.

There will be no chimes tomorrow evening, which means we will have less hands than usual. If you are able to, come on out. This is a great time of service, fellowship, and sharing a delicious meal.

What are you most looking forward to?

25 years ago, we awoke to a perfect September day. The skies were a prefect shade of blue. It was neither too hot nor too cold. It was going to be the best early fall could offer. Surely this was a day the Lord had made.

But that perfect September day came to be characterized by hatred, violence, and death in the worst terrorist attack on US soil. Thousands of lives were lost. Countless lives were irrevocably changed. We were never the same.

For those of us who have been forever changed by the events of 9/11/01, is it possible to imagine a time when the shock and hurt and pain are healed? Could we imagine God could redeem even this? Is it too bold to long for the peace of those early hours on that perfect September day?

Might we be brave enough to pray for such peace and even that we might be agents of that peace? On this day of remembrance, let us pray for peace using the words of St. Francis:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Pack, Pray, Eat is today! Come take part in service and fellowship as we provide teacher appreciation bags. Packing is at 5:30pm. Dinner will be served after packing tonight.
