š³ļø Beneath the Surface ā Another Day in the Ozarks š
Got out recently and spent some time exploring what the underground world has to offerāand it didnāt disappoint.
From aquatic life to true cave-adapted species, this trip was a great reminder of how much biodiversity exists in these systems:
š¦ Bristley Crayfish holding down the stream passages
š¦ Salamandersāboth Northern Grotto and Dark Sided
šø A well-camouflaged Pickerel frog tucked into the flow
šŖ± And even a cave-dwelling webworm stretching across the wall
Each of these species plays a role in the delicate balance of cave ecosystems. Itās always incredible to see how life adapts to total darkness, limited nutrients, and constant conditions.
These environments are fragileāevery step, every touch matters. We do our best to observe, document, and leave things exactly as we found them.
If youāre interested in caves, conservation, or just want to learn more about whatās beneath your feet, come check out a meeting or reach out to us!

Here's a follow-up to last night's post about the bats showing up on radar near Buffalo, MO. Many were wondering if it's an every night occurrence. It may not show up on radar EVERY night, but they are at it again tonight! Right on schedule at 8:30pm. Looks like a BATNADO to me!
