The Springfield Area Interact Club has had an amazing year working hard to improve our
community. With the help of other high schools in the Springfield Area, students organized a
successful winter coat drive, with Springfield High alone collecting more than 50 coats for
families in need. They also hosted a citrus sale to raise funds that support club activities and
future service projects. In addition, members enjoyed a fun overnight bonding experience at the
YMCA.
This spring, two of our students, William Affrunti and Maria Lafrenz, represented Springfield at
the Rotary-sponsored RYLA Leadership Conference, where they developed valuable leadership
and life skills. We are also proud to share that Interact member Juliana Eastvold will spend her
junior year studying abroad in Germany through the Rotary Youth Exchange program.
Meanwhile, exchange student Eva Pan is completing her senior year at Springfield High.
We want to give a huge thank-you to the Springfield Rotary Clubs for their continued support
and sponsorship of our Interact Club and for helping our students make a meaningful difference
in our community.
Interested in learning more about leadership and service opportunities through Interact? Please
reach out to Mrs. Huffman or any Interact member: Maria Lafrenz, William Affrunti, Adeyiwola
Adenipebi, or Eleanora Mooma
