The green and black you see on T's finger is metal shavings from a compressor shelling out. When this happens the best solution is to clean the entire AC system and change any components that can't be cleaned. Unfortunately this ends up being pricey but sometimes AC is well worth it. Without cleaning it, you'll mess up any new components you put on and be in the same boat quickly.

What you are seeing in this photo is the top of the compressor (the part that pumps your ac) and all that green is where it has been leaking freon. Unfortunately this customer needed a new compressor but at least we figured out the problem and got it fixed up!

Here is a housing for an evaporator. All these leaves fell down in and caused the evaporator to start leaking. Thankfully this wasn't a super big job so we were able to change it out and get the customer back on the road.
