Here’s the truth: once a log starts bleeding resin, there’s no permanent way to completely stop it short of replacing the affected log. Heat causes the natural resins inside the wood to expand and push outward over time.

🛠️ : Can You Apply Lifeline™ Over Oil-Based Stains?
We get this question all the time and the honest answer is… it depends.
Applying a water-based, high-performance finish like our Lifeline™ system over an existing oil-based or petroleum stain isn’t always straightforward. Factors like:
✔️ How many coats are already on the surface
✔️ How long the stain has been there
✔️ The type of product originally used
…all play a role in whether it will work or fail.
⚠️ Trying to apply over an unknown finish just to save time and money can be a risky move and may lead to poor adhesion or costly rework.
Best practice? Remove the existing finish before applying Lifeline finishes for long-term performance and protection.
