Disability Awareness Sunday is coming up. This year it is September 24th. Make plans to celebrate the way Jesus includes all of God's children, regardless of ability, in His Church. If you do not want to take up a special offering, consider collecting spare change for the month of October which is disabilitry awareness month. All funds gathered for this day go toward offering grants to make the church properties in our confernce more acessible, begin new ministries for people living with disabilities, and/or help someone living with a disability go on a mission trip. If you need help celebrating this day email Rev. Randy Shepard. [email protected]

Disability Awareness Sunday is THIS Sunday. Yet it can be celebrated any Sunday this fall. Again, at least 50% of our mission field is affected by disabilities. WE HAVE TO START SEEING PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES. Jesus looked to the margins, we must also. Celebrating this Sunday will help your church begin to see those living with disabilities and their families. That is step one. Then once you see them, you can begin to ask how can we be the hands and feet of Jesus in their lives.
Don't want to take up another special offering?? October is Disability Awareness Month. Consider asking people to bring their spare change for the month of October to put in a jar or bottle. Then send the money collected as your offering for Disability Awareness Sunday.
