Dear Lord, prayer somehow binds the heart to those we are praying for. Your Word says there is no greater love than one who lays down his life for his friends. May we lay down our lives at Your altar and pray for our friends, our brothers and sisters, even our enemies. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Dear Lord, I have so many reasons to come before You; so many cares, so many needs; but You are worthy no matter my situation, no matter the outcome. Help me lay aside and empty myself of all the things which hinder my understanding and enjoying only You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations. May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him. Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.

Psalms 61

Dear Lord, sometimes I think it’s hard to hear Your voice and direction, but I also know there have been times I’ve heard clearly and ignored. Forgive me for the times I reject what You are trying to do in me and in my life. It’s a scary thought if You were to leave me alone so please don’t. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

The heavens praise Your wonders, Lord, Your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies above can compare with You? Who is like You among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones You are greatly feared; You are more awesome than all who surround You. Who is like You, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and Your faithfulness surrounds You. Amen!

Dear Lord, I thank You for the beautiful variety found in creation; the beauty in diversity and in the family of God. Salvation itself is such an amazing miracle; yet there is simplicity in Christ. The salvation of man through different times, cultures, ethnicity, language - You are truly a wondrous God. Help me strive for true unity within Your body, true devotion for my brothers and sisters, and true praise for Your perfect plan of redemption. Amen.
