Rain may have changed our plans last night, but it didn’t stop the learning and fun! πŸŒ§οΈπŸ΄πŸ’™

Our first lesson was able to enjoy some time in the saddle, riding through the light sprinkles before the weather moved in. For our final lesson, we headed indoors and made the most of our unmounted time together.

Participants worked on important life skills including socialization, teamwork, and gross motor skills through fun activities and games. They also practiced responsibility by cleaning up all of their supplies and making sure everything was put away properly when the lesson was over.

One of the things we love about equine-assisted services is that meaningful learning can happen whether we’re in the saddle, on the ground, or even inside during a rainstorm. Every lesson brings opportunities to grow, connect, and build confidence.

Like many nonprofits, things are challenging right now. Donations of everyday supplies help us stretch our funding further so we can continue providing high-quality equine-assisted services to the individuals and families we serve.

Thank you for helping us make every dollar go further for our participants and horses! ❀️

Summer session is officially underway! β˜€οΈπŸ΄πŸ’™

Last night, we welcomed three new participants to our Adaptive Riding program, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them join us! We also had some new side walkers & horse leaders join the fun!

To help everyone get comfortable with their equine partners, we spent extra time grooming and getting to know our horses. Building trust and connection is an important first step before learning new skills in the saddle.

Riders practiced steering, stopping, and for some, working on their 2-point position. We also had fun with activities that challenged balance, coordination, and learning, including matching games, color matching, and balancing while placing rings on poles.

It was a wonderful first night filled with new friendships, learning, laughter, and plenty of horse hugs. We can’t wait to see what this summer session brings!
