It's hard to believe that it's been three years since our incredible co-bill with Rachael Kilgour and Jean Rohe. But fans of ours, and of the artists, will be happy to know that after years of workshopping her powerful set of songs in tribute to her father in appropriately intimate spaces, including our own warm and welcoming listening room, Rachael has finally committed to a crowdfunded recording session at the end of February to record the entire "My Father Loved Me" album in-studio, with the strong support of Juno winner Rose Cousins at the producer's helm.
It has always been a central part of our mission at Unity House - as it is at our parent organization, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield - to support artists and the arts, in the spirit of community and sustenance. And although we are not yet ready to open our space to live music, offering the chance to matter to the continued production of the songs that heal and soothe the heart, as patrons and supporters, is a large part of that which all of us can do to help that mission stay alive.
While Unity House remains on hiatus, in the spirit of the season, and of the hope and catharsis that we cherish within it, we hope those who remember us fondly will consider giving to Rachael's kickstarter, to help bring these songs to life.

Though Unity House Concerts remains on hiatus, folk fans looking for a safe outdoor "spiritual" experience THIS SUNDAY should know: Beloved singer-songwriter, storyteller, mythmaker, and activist Joe Jencks is leading our UU Sunday Service at 10:30 am in Springfield, MA with a morning of meaning-making & music in the great outdoors. And you can come, too!
Bring your lawn chair or blanket (and we will have chairs available, too)! Children are welcome, and we ask that they remain with their caregivers as there will not be childcare available. Link below for more details!
