Meet the Midwives!!

Tracy Amonoo

Certified Nurse Midwife – CNM

Born and raised in Oregon, Tracy developed a love for midwifery with her own labor and delivery experiences. While raising her family, Tracy also dedicated herself to pursuing a career, first obtaining her RN in 1996, and serving as a nurse for more than 20 years, most recently exclusively as a labor and delivery nurse on the Oregon Coast. Most recently, Tracy obtained her master’s degree from Frontier University, in 2022. Her family grown, Tracy now can devote her time to serving moms and babies as a Certified Nurse Midwife, and she is excited to establish her practice in the Mennonite Community of Versailles and Springfield, Missouri. Tracy believes in advocating and empowering women through shared decision-making to create a safe and happy experience from prenatal, labor and delivery, and post-delivery care

Meet the Midwives!!

Tiffani Hughson
Certified Nurse Midwife – CNM

Tiffani was born and raised in Illinois and is proud to call Missouri her new home since moving here last year. It was having two very different births, one with a traditional OB and the other with a Nurse Midwife that ignited the fire for her to pursue the path of becoming a Nurse Midwife. After attaining her BSN, she worked for 2 years as an OBGYN clinic nurse and then 2 years on labor and delivery before pursuing her MSN in Midwifery. In 2018 she completed her degree and moved her family to upstate NY where she worked in a small private practice with hospital privileges catching babies and caring for women across the lifespan from puberty to menopause.

With a few hundred births under her belt and experience providing women’s health care, we’re thrilled to have her as a part of our team. She’s looking forward to expanding gyne services to our families offering both traditional and alternative therapies. She often has her head in the latest research and when she doesn’t, she’s spending time with her husband of 24 years, her 2 young adult sons and their dog Penny.

Meet the Midwives!!

Connie Knight
Certified Nurse Midwife – MSN, APRN, CNM

Connie obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2019 from the University of Cincinnati. She has worked locally for the past 28 years, and has been caring for clients in labor and delivery at a local hospital for the last 20. She looks forward to continuing care for clients in a different role. Connie feels being an advocate for mothers and their newborns is essential in making their birth experience special. She believes in the midwifery model of care and believes in allowing families with low risks to have the ability to choose their birth experience and location.

Meet the Midwives!!
Robyn McHugh
Certified Nurse Midwife – APRN, CNM

Robyn McHugh has practiced as a nurse and midwife, serving the Mennonite community since 2008. Over the years, Robyn McHugh (CNM) has had the pleasure of serving hundreds of women choosing the midwifery model of care for their pregnancies and births. Shared decision making is offered to all the families Robyn McHugh serves, for she believes that only the mother herself can truly give “prenatal care” to her unborn child. Robyn sees her role as a nurse midwife as one of advocate, providing anticipatory guidance and education for women during their pregnancies and births. She encourages women to contact her anytime they have concerns regarding their pregnancies.

Robyn McHugh originally began practicing as a Certified Professional Midwife, attending births in low resource settings. However, Robyn McHugh believes that mothers deserve the highest level of training and education available, to ensure best outcomes for mothers and their newborns. Thus, Robyn McHugh went back to graduate level nursing school and completed her degree and certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife in 2016.

What Parents Need to Know About Buying an Infant Car Seat Teaching expectant parents how to buy, install, and use their first infant car seat is an important part of prenatal education. Reminding parents how to safely secure their newborn in the seat before discharge can also prepare them for a safe trip home from the hospital.
