FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Storms are expected to move in from the northwest beginning around 9-10 pm tonight, then sweep across the entire Ozarks region through Friday morning.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Beginning Thursday night, severe weather will be possible in the Ozarks through Sunday and perhaps Monday. The most significant threat could be Sunday evening/night. Stay tuned for the latest forecasts!

A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY has been issued for Sunday. A severe weather outbreak is possible in Oklahoma and Kansas Sunday, and this activity will move northeast into the Ozarks by evening. Details will likely change, but this appears to be a good setup for tornadoes and hail.

This has tornado outbreak written all over it. High instability, intense directional shear, incoming negative-tilt trough. Of course, the forecast could change. A faster timing would mean more of an impact for the Ozarks. If confidence grows, Sunday could be a First Alert Weather Day.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: There is considerable uncertainty in the details, but there should be a limited risk of severe weather Thursday night perhaps into Friday.

I was just out playing with Odin, and asked him if he needed to p**p.
I was startled when a woman's voice seem to come from behind me, then I realized it was just my phone. Gee, thanks so much, Gemini. 🤣

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: The latest run of this model shows an extensive bow echo with intense storms on the front side. If this materializes, a few gusts of 80+ mph will be possible, especially in areas NORTH of a line from around Lamar, MO to Salem, MO.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: The (very) heavy rain that has affected some areas north of Springfield this week has prompted a flood watch for tonight's rain. The "estimated rainfall" is what has fallen over the last two days.

04/17/2026

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: The day will be dry for nearly all the Ozarks region, with storms first impacting areas near Truman Lake and Stockton Lake around 4-5 pm.
