This is the prettiest thing I've seen on a weather map in weeks.
FIRST ALERT WEATHER: The end of the heat is near!
This is a great example of what happens when thunderstorms collapse in a low shear environment.
When winds through the entire atmospheric column are weak, but temperatures and instability are sufficient, thunderstorms will grow rapidly, but eventually collapse on themselves since the updraft is vertical instead of tilted. Here, you can see numerous outflow boundaries moving away from collapsing storms as if rocks have been dropped in a pond.🤓
