Haven’t had a ton of time to see since I started working again, however found time to make this fun Halloween bag for a friend!! I just love all the fun Halloween fabric!!

With my kids back in school, I finally found some time to sew! Tried a new bag design and I love it! I’ll take some better pictures next week and get it posted on my Etsy site!

Heather Nelson This hobby has been a fun creative outlet for me and I love being able to share with people a little bit of Japanese culture and introduce them to Japanese textiles.

I’ve been testing out some different patterns/ideas. Will take some better pictures later this week.

Does anyone else have kids starting back to school? Our school district starts phasing the kids back this week (they will have 2 days a week in the classroom, then 2 days virtual and one day asynchronous). I have one kid starting back each week for the next 4 weeks. Since they are FINALLY going back, I figured they all needed some more masks, so this week, I spent making a bunch of masks for my kids!! It is going to be so quiet at my house once they are all back in school--I'm sure I'll figure out how to keep myself busy without them home🤣!!

Finally listed some new reversible kimono crossbody bags on my Etsy page and I also found time to make this new bag this week, that my lovely model😁 is showing off. This is my youngest daughter and she told me that I needed to give her this purse because it matched her outfit🤣!! I also listed this purse on my Etsy page. Didn’t do a whole lot of sewing over the holidays😬! I did make my youngest daughter, myself and I matching dresses-my other daughter didn’t want a matching dress-I guess she’s too cool to match with her mom and sister😂😂! I did finish three reversible kimono bags this week-I should have them up on my Etsy site by this weekend! Now I’m trying to decide what my next project should be!

My friend had this really cool obi with Japanese figures on it she sent to me along with a kimono, which I used for the lining of the purse and zipper bag. She wanted a big purse that would fit everything and a zipper pouch to go inside! I love how they turned out!!

Tried another new bag and this bag is huge-you can fit a ton of stuff in there. It has a pocket on each side and inside also has two pockets and actually can be reversible also. The outside is two different obis I had (I have been wanting to use the wave one for forever) and the inside is a kimono. The bag base is 9x10” and the bag measures 10.5” tall x 14” wide. I’ll get this bag and the other one I made last week added to my Etsy shop this week!

I’ve had a little more time to sew this week-the kids don’t need me quite so much to help them during the school day. I made this purse-I love the fabric I used on the inside and also made this little zipper bag for a friend-which I used a kimono for the inside that she had and I love it!
