The GLO Center exists because of its members. Our members are the people who show up, give what they can, and make sure this community has a home.
Members sustain the Center through financial contributions, volunteer time, or often a combination of both. A gift of $12 or 12 hours of volunteer service qualifies you for a GLO membership for one year.
If you’ve met the qualifications for GLO membership and were not offered the chance to become an official member of The GLO Center, email Aaron Kitchens at [email protected].

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, death doulas Alex Alatorre and Cecily Robertson will host a Death Cafe for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Participants will gather at Midtown Carnegie Branch Library, from 12pm-2pm. With no set topics, themes, or questions, the death cafe is an opportunity for community members to engage in compassionate conversation around death and dying. The goal of a death cafe is to increase death literacy and help people live more fully. Tea, cake, and cookies will be provided. Donations are accepted.
RSVP at deathcafe.com/deathcafe/25497/ or email Cecily at [email protected].
The Death Cafe model was developed by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, based on the ideas of Bernard Crettaz. Lizzy Miles hosted the first US Death Cafe. Death Cafes are a discussion group, not a support group or counseling session. Learn more at deathcafe.com.
