😱I was SO shocked!!
I asked on my stories if people liked Spring or Fall photos better and 66% said Spring! I thought for SURE people preferred Fall! 🍁

Then I asked if people preferred serious or playful photos…93% said playful! Which made me happy because I definitely focus on having fun! 🤗

I asked if people liked color vs black & white photos and 85% loved color…which I get but I love the simplicity and timelessness of b&w!🖤

Then I asked if people liked studio vs outdoors and 90% of you love outdoors! Again, I get it, the outdoors are so pretty but I love not having to worry about wind, extreme temps (🥵and 🥶), bugs, lighting, competing other photographers for locations, etc!

One thing that surprised me was that people are loving more casual looks (like jeans and a sweater) vs a dress for newborn photos!
Dresses definitely are more forgiving than jeans for postpartum bodies (I still don’t like to wear “hard pants” 🤣) but I think you can still be classic and timeless with both!

😱Let’s talk about the elephant in the room…sibling photos during your newborn session.

📸It’s the picture mom wants the most (besides the one of the whole family looking at the camera and smiling at the same time)!

😫But there’s no guarantee your kids are going to cooperate no matter how much “they love the baby”!

🥺Their world has been rocked by this crying, always needs attention, stuck to mom little bundle of joy!

❤️So even though I can’t guarantee those perfectly posed, holding the baby smiling pictures (it’s like a rare unicorn)…I can guarantee I will try my hardest to create memories that you will cherish for a lifetime!!

🥹Getting vulnerable with you guys…my year in review:
I had 184 shoots and I only posted 24 times! 🤦‍♀️

📸I would love to show you every session or tell you the funny things that happened this year but unfortunately I haven’t figured out how to balance posting and actually having a life! 🤪

🤗But I do want to say thank you to the 184 people who trusted me with their memories this year!

👗I know it’s hard to plan outfits, time the haircuts just right, get moody teenagers on board, wrangle cranky kids…all with a smile on your face and the promise of a memory you will cherish for a lifetime!

🦸‍♀️Moms are the superheroes of family photos and they don’t get enough credit! Thank you moms for all you do! You are the magic, the memory makers, the time freezers! 📸

👨Thank you to all the dads who willingly played with their kids, didn’t complain about their outfits and understand how much this means to your wife!

👧Thank you to all the babies who I got to snuggle, the hugs I got from sweet kiddos and the teens who didn’t rolls their eyes at me when I said give your mom a hug!

❤️I honestly have the best clients who have become friends and I’m so thankful for each and every one of you!!!

🤦‍♀️Do you remember the story I did about our family picture fail on the coldest/windiest day of the year?!

Well even though it was painful and I didn’t think we would get even one good picture…we got some great memories!

Sometimes the hard things in life are the most worth it!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with people that you love!

So thankful for my people…even if they drive me crazy and hate taking pictures! 🤪
