In the document, titled Magnifica Humanitas ("The Grandeur of Humanity") Pope Leo reminds us about what makes us truly human, and how no amount of technological innovation or AI-generated content can supplant the value of human dignity.

Sunday Senior Spotlight

🎉 Congratulations to Emerson Osborn.

We are proud to honor Emerson, the daughter of Corey and Kristy Osborn, as a recipient of the $1,500 Ladies' Guild Scholarship.

Emerson recently graduated from Platteview High School. She shone as a three-time All-State Choir member (2023–25), performed in Trojan Singers Concert Choir, Show Choir, Omaha Girls Choir and the school musical, as well as competed in soccer and golf. Her powerful voice graced the National Anthem stage at the State Volleyball Tournament, State Wrestling Tournament and Creighton women's basketball. What a gift to so many.

At St. Joseph, Emerson has been a true servant leader. She participated in Religious Education and Youth Group, lent her voice as a cantor at Mass, assisted with Sixth Grade Religious Education, provided childcare for Faith and Family Formation and even made sure the Teen Girls Bible Study on Sunday nights was fed. ❤️

Beyond school and parish, Emerson volunteered with the Munroe-Meyer Institute and the Nebraska Food Bank. She always looks for ways to give back.

This fall, Emerson will begin her studies at Metro Community College before she transfers to the University of Nebraska at Omaha to earn a degree in Early Childhood Inclusive Education. We have no doubt she will be an incredible presence in the lives of the children she serves.

Emerson, we are blessed to have you in our community. We wish you the best on this exciting next chapter! 🙏✨

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity | USCCB 05/30/2026

https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/053126.cfm
This week and next week, we have celebrations of two big feast days that always follow Pentecost--Trinity Sunday and Corpus Christi Sunday. This weekend, we focus on the Most Holy Trinity. Last year, I preached on these feast days in terms of their practicality. So, how do we know the Trinity and experience the Trinity? This year, I'll preach on these feasts in terms of their theology. These are central "mysteries" of the Faith. As you will hear me say, the word "mystery" in this context means something which is revealed by God, which can be known, but which cannot be known fully. So, for both this week and next, we'll dive into these.

Have a great week!
