There will be a memorial service for Bro. Gary W. Long, who passed away to his heavenly home on July 22, 2021. He was one of the founding members of our church in 1970 and our pastor for over 40 years. The service will be held at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, 2766 W. Farm Road 178, Springfield, Missouri, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

With gratitude to our good and merciful Sovereign Lord for past blessings, and hopeful anticipation of future ones, Sovereign Grace Baptist Church joyfully welcomes our new pastor and his wife, Terry and Kathy Wilkes.

Sovereign Grace Baptist Church announces, with joy and sorrow, that our beloved Pastor, Bro. Gary W. Long, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. No visitation is planned. There will be a memorial service in the future at the church he loved so much. Due to the Covid pandemic crisis in our community, the family wishes to convey their understanding to their many friends if they do not feel comfortable attending the service. Due to quite a bit of sickness going around, the second service for Sunday, July 11, has been canceled.

We are very happy to announce that beginning next Sunday, April 11, 2021, we will resume our normal schedule, adding our second service in the afternoon. It will begin each week at 1:15 PM.

This first Sunday - the 11th - we will have a "carry-in" dinner, with everyone bringing a main dish and side dish or dessert to share. After that, we will resume our normal lunch schedule of a "carry-in" dinner on the first Sunday of each month and a "bring-your-own" lunch on the remaining Sundays between services.
