The Trail of Tears Rest Areas on I-57 are complete! These new facilities honor the history of the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail while providing modern amenities for travelers across Southern Illinois.

Check out the stunning terrazzo floor with a map highlighting the Illinois stops along the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail. Visitors can also enjoy new playgrounds, picnic areas, and updated gathering spaces!
