Indie Christian Artist, husband and father. I try to write songs that make you think. Jesus found me. Now I'm His and so is my music.

Quiet Places is a song about embracing quietness to declutter the noise of our hearts so we can hear the Spirit’s voice in our life.

The first time I posted this the audio cut out after the first 10 seconds. Good call .annis
These are the kinds of things that were on my mind when I wrote verse one for “Burning Heart.”

I'll be playing Grace Upon Grace Books and Coffee on the 18th at 7pm. Such a cozy spot for some indie music about Jesus.

Photo creds: Burgess, effects my own.

Saturday was absolutely a blast, and locking in with a crazy drummer was nothing short of surreal. Can’t wait to start releasing these songs. Thanks for having us! worship team, it was great to share the stage with you!

The last five years as a Christian the Lord has been refining my way of understanding strength and power. When I first became a believer I possessed a very militant, over confident attitude on what it means to be filled with the Spirit of God.

The more I am maturing in my faith, however, the more I’m embracing the beauty and power of Paul’s words, “When I am weak, then I am strong” (1 Cor 12:10). Embracing our desperate dependance upon God in all things is where our lives become more suited to bring God glory, as His power, and not our own, works through fragile jars of clay. Facing the various weaknesses we all face on our Christian journey with humility, prayer, and dependance upon God is the very path of being “conformed to the image of His Son” (Rom 8:29).

In my upcoming album, I process many of the wrestlings of learning how to navigate this faithfully. I hope it would point you to go to God more readily, make Him Your dearest friend and greatest delight, and embrace the cruciform gospel we have been called to.

Yes, this may ruffle feathers in the indie Christian music circles, but I really think it needs said. If you know me personally, you would know that I have no problem speaking publicly about issues in the Church that are actual issues. What I’m noticing, though, is this bandwagon trend where it’s cool to nitpick at the Church over things that really don’t matter. And this is not cool. The Scriptures say that for every careless and idle word we will give an account on the day of judgment. It appears like there is a lack of the fear of God in the Indie Christian circles, and we have to be careful that our social media music platform doesn’t become a prime place for us to vent all of our past wounds. I don’t believe that’s helpful.
