Every time I arrive for piano lessons, Stella is my overexcited greeter, full of energy and ready to rock. It's like she's thinking, 'Finally, piano time, let's get this party started!' Wish my students shared her zeal... Lol 🤭

Sample Lesson:
This student exhibits high energy. To accommodate his needs, I customize each lesson to fit his individual requirements. Given his difficulties with maintaining focus and playing a song from start to finish, I adapt my approach to match his energy, making the lesson more engaging and interactive rather than traditional and formal.

This approach may not appear conventional, but this is what is really going on....
1) I reinforce prior knowledge through questioning, enabling him to read music, identify hand positioning, finger placement, and key selection with minimal guidance.

2) He demonstrates understanding of Quarter Rests, referred to as 'bacon,' and effectively applies them, utilizing a playful approach to ensure accurate ex*****on.

3) Amidst the energetic atmosphere, he actively listens to instruction, allowing me to seamlessly integrate constructive feedback on posture, focus, and task-oriented reminders.

4) Being silly and playful is intentionally designed to cater to his age and energy level, ensuring the lesson remains enjoyable and stimulating.

I am delighted to assist these two students in performing a duet at a school event scheduled for June. This marked their first opportunity to play together, and they did great!
The lesson emphasized the importance of interpersonal listening skills and following each other's lead, while also highlighting the distinction between melodic and accompaniment roles.

As you can see, my teaching approach encompasses not only instrumental proficiency, but also the development of being well rounded musicians.

I had a couple of students perform in their school's talent show the other night that I was able to attend and watch their acts. I'm very proud of them! I can't wait to attend the school's next event...the band concert...
