🏆NCHA Collegiate Judging Champion Team 🏆

🐻 Ava Walker - Collegiate Champion Individual 🐻

Four of our College of Agriculture students traveled to Fort Worth this week to compete against students from all over the nation in the National Cutting Horse Association Collegiate Judging Contest.

While teams are typically made of 5 individuals with the lowest individials score becoming a drop score, we marched down with only 4 students leaving no room for error. Students were required to take a written exam, a penalty clip test, and judge two sets of ten runs.

We ended up with three of our students in the TOP TEN as well as Ava Walker winning ✨ Champion Individual ✨taking home a beautiful buckle and a plaque. The entire team also got to take home gorgeous Gist buckles.

A big thank you to the NCHA for putting on such a well organized contest!

We could not be more proud of this team! All the late nights practicing at home, and early mornings in Fort Worth all paid off!

The Missouri State University equine program is proudly offering three yearling geldings by Customs Pistol Pete.

Customs Pistol Pete is a NRHA money earner with 87 performance points in Reining and Ranch Riding and is AQHA Superior in Reining. He is by Custom Pistol who earned $258,000 in NRHA including a Reserve Futurity Championship and NRHA Open Derby Championish. “Pete” is out of a daughter of Lean With Me: NRHA Debry Champion and NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Reserve Champion. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/custom+pistol+pete

MOSU Custom Dun out of a NuChex to Cash/Hollywood Dunit mare. His dam has been successfully show in ranch horse events and used in the MSU equine program.
“Smith” is a super mover who will get all the pretty horse points and is built correct to do well in the VRH conformation. Stands tied to be saddled, has been lunged, and driven in a sidepull.

MOSU Custom Trigger (palomino) is out of a daughter of NCHA money earner and AQHA point earner Heza Freckles Boon. His dam was a daughter of Hollywood Dunit. “Trigger” is a super gentle gelding that has lots of pedigree and color making him an excellent show prospect. He has a scar on his right hip from a laceration he suffered as a foal and does not affect him at all. Stands tied to be saddled, has been lunged, and driven in a sidepull.

MOSU Custom Chex out of a Nu Chex/Zans Red Gold (400 AQHA performance points in Reining and Working Cowhorse) dam. His dam was used to the age of 20 in the horsemanship program at MSU. “Wesson” is a big, stout gelding making him an excellent ranch horse prospect. Stands tied to be saddled, has been lunged, and driven in a sidepull.

These yearlings were raised at MSU and started by the students. They will be offered for sale in an online soft close auction November 9th and 10th through Integrity Livestock Sales. The Auction will close at 7 PM Monday Novemeber 10th. The conditions for payment and pickup will be listed on the auction page. A scheduled preview will be on Saturday November 1st.
