On Sunday, Rev. Patricia Herring told us about PTSD-Pray, Trust, be Still, and Depend. In times of worry it is important to demonstrate a sense of calm and understanding. Bring everything to God in prayer, and pray with the spirit of thanksgiving. When storms come trust is essential for believers. Stand still and witness His deliverance, it is in those moments of stillness when the Lord does his most powerful work. Depend on God for He is our source.

Is your fear covered by your faith?

This past Sunday Rev. Patricia Herring told us that when you have an intimate relationship with God, happiness is not a big enough word for how you will feel. John 10-11 says “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your
Joy may be full.”

If you’re looking for joy. Try Jesus!

Yesterday Rev. Patricia Herring told us that the Lord did not bring you this far to leave you. Isaiah 43:2 says “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” James Cleveland put it best in his song “I don’t feel no ways tired I’ve come to far from where I started from.” It may seem like you have no place to go, and there is trouble all around you, but trust in God and Hold on. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Where Is Your Trust?

Today Rev. Patricia Herring told us that full salvation is healing, protection, deliverance, strength, and transformation. The Blood has the power to heal and protect. The Blood of Jesus has the power to transform us into the image of God’s holiness. Isaiah 53:5 tells us that “By His stripes we are healed.”

Have you embraced the transforming power of the Blood?

Sunday, Rev Patricia Herring preached about how our unchanging God protects us from danger, and preserves us from all evil.

Psalms 121: 5-8 says The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is the shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Are you hanging on to His Unchanging Hand?

This past Sunday Rev. Patricia Herring at St. John A.M.E told us that the Lord walks with us, and that everyday is a new journey that the Lord maps out for us.

For I know the plans that I have for you, plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you a future of hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Have you embraced the journey?

Sunday was Pastor Appreciation Day! Rev. Kimberly Hayes, Ward Chapel AME, Peoria, IL, tells us honor is setting boundaries in our life and respecting those set by others.

1st Timothy 15 -17 tells us:

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor especially those who labor in teaching and preaching.

What’s your code of honor?
