This trumpet lily, 'African Queen', won best in show as last weekend's 2025 Ozark Regional Lily Society show. The grower is Susan Sims-Giddens of Springfield, Mo. Susan, thanks for all you do and especially for bringing this awesome stem to the show.

This is a stem of martagon lily 'Mahogany Bells'. It won best in show in the martagon division at the 2025 Ozark Regional Lily Society show last Saturday. The grower is Chuck Robinson of Raytown, Mo.

This stem of 'Royal Sunset' won best-in-show honors in Section A, Division 8, for Lynn Slackman of Shiloh, Ill. It is a great stem of a wonderful, garden-worthy lily. It was one of the early LA hybrids (i.e., a cross of the Easter lily (L. longiflorum) crossed with an Asiatic. 'Royal Sunset' was registered by W.A. van der Wereld & Zn BV/World Flower BV in 1999. Jan van der Wereld was honored posthumously when the North American Lily Society bestowed on him the E.H. Wilson Award, for his outstanding contribution to the genus Lilium. His sons flew from the Netherlands to Chicago to accept the award.

The best-in-show stem of a lily species at the 2025 Ozark Regional Lily Show was Lynn Slackman of Shiloh, Ill. Lynn, thanks for making the drive and bringing this fine stem of Lilium pardalinum, a West Coast native lily species. This is the best seedling stem from the June 14, 2025, Ozark Regional Lily Society show. Art Evans of Gravette, Ark., brought the stem and several other interesting seedlings. It was difficult for the judges to select the best. Art, thanks for all you do for the Ozark Regional Lily Society, including bringing the tubes for displaying the stems and all the lilies you cut, but also to the North American Lily Society.

This excellent stem of 'Yellow Bruse' was judged to be the best Asiatic stem in the Ozark Regional Lily Society show on June 14 at The Library Center in Springfield, Mo. The grower of this magnificent stem is Susan Sims-Giddens, president of the Ozark Regional Lily Society. Susan, thanks for all you do for the society, and thank you for bringing such a wonderful stem to the show. Brava.

Thanks to the clerks, judges and helpers for the Ozark Regional Lily Society 2025 show on Saturday, June 14. You made it happen, and dozens of people stopped by drawn by the magic of lilies.

The floral arrangement, by Shari Lakin, was judged best in the show. The arrangement was in the “Masterpieces of Perfection” class.

Thank you!! A huge thank you to all who came to the Library Center and viewed our 2025 Lily Show!! Despite our rainy and windy weather this spring and summer, we had beautiful stems and designs displayed.
