Vote Hope for America's Most Artistic Kid! Hope Is 13 And Has Been Drawing Since She Was 2. She Draws More Than 50 Drawings Per Day; Everything From Dinosaurs To Character Creations.

I was asked to spotlight one of Hope's creations this morning.
"This painting shows generations of people who were hurt and became harmful to others. As they go down, they become less distorted and monster-like. The chain represents how trauma can be passed down through families.
The two figures at the bottom represent me and my mom. We are different from the others. We are still connected to the past, but we are not becoming the same monsters.
This piece is about breaking the cycle and choosing to become something different, even when you come from pain. It's about Hope.

In my eyes, she has already won.

I asked ChatGPT what this drawing of Hope's would look like in real life.

Hope, "Look, Mom! I made this in school today out of some free leftover clay from the art room and a broken googly eye I found on the floor in the hall."
Me, "Hope, that is so creative, beautiful, and industrious! What did your art teacher think of that?"
Hope, "she hasn't seen it. I made it during Math. What?? I was paying attention!"

It's difficult for me to get good photos of this.
It's cute, it's funny, and it's a work of art.
But it's even funnier when you know that Hope drew this on her arm at school during a math test...and still made an A on the test.
She brought home a straight A grade card today as well. :)

Hope is experimenting with drawing in a more realistic style and I am jazzed about it.
She hasn't finished anything yet, but she's just beginning. These are her first attempts and she may not complete them.
I, of course, love both of these. And how cool is that Paul Stanley make-up wearing Boston Terrier?!
I kinda wanna see one wearing demon boots and breathing fire now.

Hope is experimenting with some type of 3D art.
We spent hours in Michael's so she could gather supplies using her Christmas gift cards.
She came home and created this dragon. It stands up. It's so cool! This is probably the gateway to something fantastical. I'm happy to always have a front row seat to Hope's creativity. The possibilities are endless!
