Little Hummingbird Garden

Oh man, it's been quite the year. I had to delay digging the big field until Spring. Since I was digging in the Spring, the slugs had a field day eating the tubers/baby sprouts and just wiped out tons of my varieties. I lost most of my waterliles. Other life issues further delayed replanting. I've also fought moles, deer, grasshoppers, cucumber beetles, earwigs, and rabbits/quail (didn't see the critter, but highly suspect it was the quail). I've culled a bunch of plants due to virus. Installed an 8 foot deer fence, which seems to have deterred them enough. I'm finally getting to reap the rewards and have some flowers. LOTS of Irish D Porter and Hollyhill Pollyanna.

Friends, great things are underway! 322 dahlias planted so far 💐💐💐 Irrigation hoses and stakes still to be done. And who knew that 50'x20' wasn't going to be enough space?! I've filled it up, and asked for a little more. Still have sunflowers and some other things to plant. Boss Man and are just gonna hate the view (and bouquets) 😉

I have so many things blooming/growing now! I love it all 😍
