Thank you for the outpouring of love. I've appreciated the kind words, cards, and prayers. I'm still not in a head space where I can fully engage with others though. Just know I'm grateful for all of you.

Any confusion related to an order was rectified.

It is with a heavy heart that I'm making this announcement. The Cake Shoppe will permanently be closing. We made a public announcement about the tragic event that happened in our family. This was not a failing business. I had new accounts and an invite to have regular showings on CiLiving. Further, we had no debts related to the Shoppe. Business was booming. I will need to manage my uncle's estate which is out of state. I intend to devote myself to seeing that justice for my uncle happens. There's no way I can do both. Wedding orders and graduation orders start pouring in this time of year. It would be unethical to accept those orders knowing many would be canceled last minute. Thank you for the outpouring of love everyone has given.

This is Julie's husband, Eric, posting on her behalf. Julie and her extended family have been faced with a horrific tragedy. Her paternal uncle, who she dearly loved, was the victim of a brutal homicide last weekend. She is currently trying her best to process the loss and help her cousins get his affairs in order.

As previously announced we had planned to open our doors on the 15th after the shoppe's annual two week vacation, however this will not happen. We will honor all pre-orders scheduled for next week and arrange for their pickup, but our doors will not be open during normal business hours next week.

We have chosen to publicly post about this to emphasize the severity of her and her family's loss. Your patience and prayers while she works through this is appreciated.

Can you believe it's nearly 2026? Holy Moly! I didn't get to our post today. Sorry folks! I'm open tomorrow, New Years Eve 10:30am-6:30pm. Hopefully, I can get a post up tomorrow.
